Taking its debut as the fastest and most powerful road-going Porsche ever built, the 997.2 GT2 RS marked the absolute pinnacle of the 911 model range, featuring a 612-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle. Limited to 500 examples, the GT2 RS showcases an exposed carbon fiber hood, front wheel arch flares, 19” center-locking wheels, carbon fiber bucket seats, lightweight door panels, carbon fiber trim, red and black Alcantara upholstery, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a limited-slip differential, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). This GT2 RS is reportedly one of 130 cars produced for the U.S., and only 43 examples finished in GT Silver Metallic worldwide.
Sharing its wide bodywork and side air intakes with the contemporary 911 Turbo, the GT2 features model-specific fascias and a fixed rear wing with integrated air scoops. The RS version is distinguished by front wheel arch flares, aluminum door skins, a larger front spoiler, a rear diffuser, a front badge decal, and a satin carbon fiber finish on the hood, mirror caps, side air intakes, exhaust surrounds, front grilles, and rear spoiler lip. This example is finished in GT Silver Metallic with silver 19” center-lock alloy wheels complemented by yellow ceramic brake calipers. Equipment includes xenon headlights, painted headlamp washers, LED taillights and daytime running lights, model designation decals on the doors, and titanium exhaust outlets.
Inside, the carbon fiber full bucket seats feature contrasting red Alcantara inserts matching the armrests, steering wheel, shifter, brake handle, and headliner. Accessories include Guards Red seatbelts and door pull straps, optional Porsche-crested headrests, a red Alcantara Porsche-logo storage compartment lid, a carbon fiber rear center console, carbon fiber trim pieces, a thicker two-stone Alcantara steering wheel, carbon fiber RS-logo door sill guards, and a serialized limitation plaque on the glovebox. The car also features reduced noise insulation materials, lightweight carpets, full climate control, cruise control, a remote central locking system, a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch, optional Sound Package Plus, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM).
The GT2 RS features a 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine with forged pistons and connecting rods, VarioCam Plus variable valve timing, Dynamic Engine Mounts, and twin Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) turbochargers. It delivers up to 620 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle with a single-mass flywheel and a limited-slip differential.
